ESIRECAM CLOSING ON 06/01/2025
Identification and registration
The management of the identification and detention of camelids is no longer the responsibility of the IFCE.
As a result, several important changes will affect the way camelids are identified in the coming years.
The eSIRECam database, currently used for camelid identification, will close permanently on January 6, 2025.
Camelidae - Ifce
BEFORE JANUARY 1, 2025, it was mandatory for all owners or holders of camelids in France and Europe to register them with ESIRECAM (Registration of Camel Sires). This measure is no longer relevant. Before this date, registration aimed to strengthen the traceability of camelids, thus ensuring the health and safety of these animals while facilitating the management of the camel herd in France. Registration procedures:
Camelid owners or keepers are required to submit the information required for registration to ESIRECAM. This information may include, but is not limited to:
1. Camelid Identification: Provide accurate details about each animal, including breed, sex, date of birth, and any other relevant information.
2. Owner/Holder Contact Details: Include full contact details of the owner or holder, allowing them to be contacted if necessary.
Purposes of Recording:
The mandatory registration of camelids with ESIRECAM pursues several important objectives, including:
- Animal Health: Allow better monitoring of diseases and facilitate rapid veterinary interventions if necessary.
- Traceability: Ensure effective traceability of camel herds, thereby increasing transparency.
- Livestock Management: Facilitate the overall management of camel livestock in France and Europe, enabling the competent authorities to take appropriate measures in the event of health events or emergency situations.
Penalties for Non-Registration:
Failure to comply with this registration requirement may result in penalties in accordance with current legislation. It is therefore imperative for all owners or holders of camelids to comply with this requirement within the prescribed time limits.
In conclusion, registration with ESIRECAM represents a crucial step to ensure the health, safety and effective management of camelids in France and Europe. Owners and keepers are encouraged to cooperate fully with this initiative for the well-being of their animals and the camel industry as a whole.

Declaration of detention – camelids
The holder of one or more camelids, with the exception of veterinary companies, knackers, slaughterhouses and transporters, is required to declare themselves in the eSIRECam database.
All declarations must be made online by the holder via the eSIREcam interface.
The holder must create an account to declare the address(es) of the places where camelids are kept.
Camelid Property Management
Camelid owners are required to declare and register themselves in the ESIRECam database before registering any camelids.
They are required to report changes of ownership within two months of the transfer.
All declarations must be made online by the owner via the eSIREcam interface.
If a camelid is declared sold (and the ownership has not been endorsed by the new owner in eSIRECam), the camelid appears in the camelid list but with the status “Sold”.
This declaration is prior to the registration of camelids.
