Sandrina Scalamonti a visité il y a quelques années un élevage d'alpagas, c'est un animal spécial et magnifique dont elle a eu le coup de coeur. Fascinée par leur apparence amicale, leur caractère doux, leur sensibilité et leur intelligence, elle a décidé de monter son élévage. Pour cela elle a beaucoup étudié le comportement de cet animal, s'est plongé dans leur mode de vie aux Pays-Bas. Son rêve est devenu réalité par amour pour l'animal et par intérêt pour l'élevage. Elle a crée L'Original des Andes. Entre-temps, elle a acquis de l'expérience dans le domaine tant au niveau du comportement, des soins, de la laine, elle a participé à plusieurs reprises à des expositions internationales d'alpagas.
Sandrina Beardie-Pon visited an alpaca farm a few years ago, it is a special and magnificent animal which she fell in love with. Fascinated by their friendly appearance, their gentle character, their sensitivity and their intelligence, she decided to raise her breeding. For this she studied a lot the behavior of this animal, immersed herself in their lifestyle in the Netherlands. His dream became reality out of love for the animal and out of interest in breeding. She created La Ferme des Andes. In the meantime, she has acquired experience in the field in terms of behavior, care, wool, she has participated on several occasions in international alpaca exhibitions.
Sandrina a commencé en 2011 avec 2 alpagas de couleur crème. Aux Pays-Bas, les couleurs standarts des alpagas parmi tous les éleveurs sont noir, gris, marron, fauve, blanc. ( 22 couleurs chez l'alpaga en comptant toutes les nuances de marrons beiges et gris)
Sandrina started in 2011 with 2 cream-colored alpacas. Across the Netherlands, she saw alpacas of standard colors among all breeders, black, gray, brown, fawn, white, not far from 22 colors in the alpaca, counting all the shades of beige and gray brown.
Mais elle souhaitait voir quelque chose de différent, plus de couleur sur 1 animal. C'est là que sa grande recherche d'un alpaga plus coloré a commencé en 2012, elle ne voulait pas de fantaisie ou de bicolore, mais un animal magnifiquement repéré. Après une longue recherche, elle a trouvé une ferme qui avait ce qu'elle souhaitait.
Elle s'est rendu au Royaume-Uni chez Popham Alpacas et est tombé immédiatement amoureuse d'un étalon appaloosa magnifique Amboseli, une pure merveille.
But she wants to see something different, more color on 1 animal. This is where her great search for a more colorful alpaca began in 2012, she did not want fantasy or two-color, but a beautifully spotted animal. After a long search, she found a farm that had what she wanted, after making an appointment, and she went to the UK to Popham Alpacas. She immediately fell in love with a magnificent Appaloosa stallion Amboseli, a pure wonder.
Il y avait aussi une femelle Appaloosa. Elle a acheté les deux. 3 mois plus tard, elle était la première au Pays-Bas à avoir des alpagas Applaoosa, quel fierté de se différencier!
Ce qui etait étrange, c'est que les autres éleveurs d'alpagas n'aimaient pas cela, ce n'était pas une couleur pour eux, nous ne pouvions pas participer à des concours de modèles et allures, nous étions préoccupés par ce choix!
They also had an Appaloosa female. She bought both. 3 months later, she was the first in the Netherlands to have Applaoosa alpacas, what a pride to stand out. What is strange is that the other alpaca breeders did not like it, it was not a color, we could not participate in model and gait competitions, we were concerned about this choice.
Nous avons continué à demander à ce qu'une catégorie appaloosa apparaisse dans les concours afin d'y participer, la réponse était toujours NON.
Ensuite, la chance lui a souri lors d'un spectacle à Westerlee, un juge qui avait un programme d'élevage d'appaloosa a été invité, il s'est immédiatement adressé à l'organisation, et enfin grâce à Magriet Moed, Sandrina a été autorisée à montrer son alpaga appaloosa sur le ring, mais il n'était toujours pas autorisé à participer au concours.
À partir de l'année suivante, après des années de combats, nous avons finalement été autorisés à participer à des concours de modèles et allures d'alpaga appaloosa. Amboseli et Raindrops étaient leurs premiers alpagas appaloosa, tous deux avec de nombreux descendants à couper le souffle. Certains rejetons vivent en Allemagne, en Belgique, en France, en Italie et au Danemark. Nous pensons toujours que la plus belle couleur de l'alpaga est l'appaloosa avec leur gène spécial.

We still think that the most beautiful color of the alpaca is the appaloosa with their special gene.
De plus en plus de propriétaires d'alpagas manifestent un intérêt pour les animaux appaloosa dans leur troupeau. Cet animal coloré attire le regard dans tous les pâturages et au sein du troupeau. La laine de l'Appaloosa est également très populaire parmi les filatures et les transformateurs de laine d'alpaga. La qualité de la laine de l'Appaloosa ne nuit pas à la laine des alpagas de couleur pure.
More and more alpaca owners are showing interest in Appaloosa animals in their herd. This colorful animal catches the eye in all pastures and within the herd. Appaloosa wool is also very popular among spinners and processors of alpaca wool. The quality of Appaloosa wool does not harm the wool of pure colored alpacas.
